Captain Shawn Palmer

Born in Buffalo, New York, Captain Shawn Palmer has lived in many places across the country, and his lifelong passion for fishing and boating has taken him to some very different waters — from the beaches of Ocean City, Maryland, to the rugged coastlines of Alaska, and especially the oceans of Hawaii.

Now proudly calling Southwest Florida home, he brings decades of experience operating a variety of vessels — from fishing charters and sightseeing tours to Naples' newest water shuttle service. When the Naples Bay water shuttle is running, you'll often find him at its wheel.

Captain Shawn is dedicated to enjoyable, welcoming, worry-free days for every guest: professionalism, local knowledge, captivating stories from his years at sea, and genuine hospitality — whether you're spotting dolphins, collecting shells or simply soaking in the scenery.

Captains and crew rotate across the fleet and both home ports with the season and the tides, so we can't promise who'll be at your wheel on a given day — but every Sand Dollar trip runs with a local captain, USCG licensed & insured, and a crew that treats your day on the water like their own.
