The Adventure

Chase the Gulf's golden hour

As the afternoon cools, your captain idles out through the calm bays toward open water — and the best seat in Southwest Florida. No crowded beach, no jockeying for a view. Just you, your people, and 360 degrees of sky going gold, then orange, then on fire.

Pour your favorite drink, kick back, and watch the show. Wild dolphins love the evening light and often surface alongside, and on the way you'll glide past the dreamy waterfront estates of Naples and Port Royal. It's the easiest, most romantic two hours you'll spend on the water — and it's a little different every single night.

  • The best open-water sunset view, all to yourselves
  • BYOB — cooler, ice and cups aboard
  • Dolphins often join in the golden light
  • Perfect for date night, family & celebrations

The Difference

Why watch the sunset by boat?

Anyone can fight for a spot on a crowded beach. Here's what a Sand Dollar cruise gets you instead.

Crowded beach sunset

  • Elbow-to-elbow on the sand
  • The view blocked by, well, everyone
  • Hauling your own chairs & cooler
  • The sun drops behind the condos
By boat

Sand Dollar sunset cruise

  • Your own private front-row seat
  • 360° of open-water sky, unobstructed
  • Cooler, ice & cups already aboard
  • The sun melts straight into the Gulf

The Route

Where we chase the light

Your captain reads the sky, clouds and wind to find the night's best color. A few of our favorite finales:

01

Open Gulf

Out past the islands to open water, where the sun melts straight into the sea — the classic Marco sunset.

02

Naples Bay & Port Royal

Glide the calm waterways past the area's most spectacular waterfront estates, all aglow.

03

The Passes

Where bay meets Gulf — dolphins surf the evening tide and the light turns to gold.

04

Keewaydin & the Sandbars

Anchor off a quiet sandbar and toast the day with sand between your toes.

🌅 Every sunset is one of a kind — no two cruises ever end the same way.

Plan Your Evening

Golden hour, by season

Sunset time shifts through the year — we time every cruise to the day's sunset, so you just pick a date.

Cool Season

November – April

Crisp & early

Earlier sunsets (roughly 5:30–6:30pm), crisp clear skies and calm water. Pack a light layer.

Warm Season

May – October

Late & fiery

Later sunsets (closer to 8pm), big dramatic clouds and the most fiery color of the year.

🌅 Just pick your date — the exact departure time for that evening shows on the booking screen.

Best night of our whole vacation. We brought champagne, the captain found us the most insane orange sky, and a pod of dolphins showed up at sunset. Unreal.

We took my parents for their 40th anniversary. Private, peaceful, and the sunset did NOT disappoint. Our captain even grabbed photos for us. I cried a little.

Cruised past the Port Royal mansions then out for the sunset. Felt like a million bucks for a fraction of it. Bring your own wine — smartest tip ever.

Good to Know

Sunset cruise questions

Everything you need to know before you cast off. Still curious? Give us a call.

What time does the cruise leave?

Sunset cruises are timed to the sunset, so the start time shifts through the year — roughly 5pm in winter and closer to 7pm in summer. The exact departure time for your date shows on the booking screen.

How long is the cruise?

About 2 hours — out for golden hour, the sunset itself, and the afterglow cruise home. Private and custom lengths are available; see live options on the booking screen or give us a call.

Can we bring drinks and food?

Absolutely — BYOB is welcome and encouraged! We provide a cooler, ice and cups; just bring your favorite bottles and snacks. Please drink responsibly.

Is it good for a proposal or anniversary?

It's one of the most romantic things you can do on the Gulf. Tell us you're celebrating when you book and we'll help make it special — and discreetly grab photos of the moment.

Will we see dolphins?

Often! Wild dolphins love the evening light and frequently surface and surf alongside on the cruise out. They're wild animals so we can't promise it — but it happens a lot.

Where do we leave from?

We depart from San Marco Marina in Goodland (604 E Palm Ave) and from Naples Bay Resort & Marina (1500 5th Ave S). Your exact meeting point and parking come with your booking confirmation. Plan to arrive about 15 minutes early.

What if it's cloudy?

Some of the most spectacular sunsets happen with clouds in the sky! If weather forces a cancellation before we leave the dock, you'll get a full refund or a reschedule.
