A northwest wind stacks a short chop right at the pass mouth where the bay funnels into the Gulf, so on those mornings we’ll swing the mansions and the bay-side stops first and save the open-water push for later, once the sea breeze settles into its usual afternoon pattern and the swell lays down against the beach.
Because it’s your charter and not a fixed run, the order is genuinely negotiable mid-trip. We’ve had groups ask to skip the open Gulf entirely and spend the whole hour working the quiet canals at idle speed, and we’ve had groups do the opposite — straight out through the pass for open water and dolphins, mansions on the way back in. The one thing we won’t gamble on is timing the crossing to the back half of the ebb, when Gordon Pass is draining hardest and shoving the most water through that one narrow gap.
